This policy explains what data the Munoo app (“Munoo”, “we”) collects, why, who processes it and what control you have. Munoo is developed by Ilya Mudryi, an independent developer, who is the controller of your data. Contact: support@munoo.app.
1. Data we collect
- Account: your email address or Sign in with Apple identifier, and the name Apple shares if you allow it.
- Profile and goals: sex, date of birth, height, weight, target weight, activity level, goal, calorie and macro targets, food preferences and, if you answer it, where you heard about Munoo.
- Food diary: meals you log (names, portions, nutrients, notes), meal photos you choose to save, weight entries, favorites and progress in purchased content such as the meal plan or programme.
- Content you send for AI estimates: meal photos, nutrition label photos and text descriptions.
- Purchases: subscription and purchase status. Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
- Usage analytics: app events (for example screen views, scans started, errors), device model, OS and app version, approximate country derived from IP address. You can turn analytics off in Profile.
- Apple Health: if you allow it, Munoo reads steps, active energy and exercise minutes and can write meals, water, weight and workouts. Health data is used on your device to show it in the app. It is never used for advertising and never sold.
2. Why we use it
- To provide the app: calculate your targets, store and sync your diary between devices, show progress and reminders (contract).
- To produce AI estimates of calories and nutrients from the photos and text you send (contract).
- To manage subscriptions and purchases and restore them on a new device (contract).
- To understand how the app is used and fix problems, through analytics you can switch off (legitimate interest / consent where required).
- To answer your support requests.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not show third-party advertising in the app.

Photos and text are sent to the AI model only to produce an estimate for you. Where data leaves the EU, it is protected by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by the provider.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account and diary while your account exists. When you delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account), your profile, diary, photos and favorites are deleted from our servers. Backups are overwritten within 30 days. Purchase records may be kept by Apple and RevenueCat as required for accounting.
5. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict processing and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this you can do in the app; for anything else write to support@munoo.app. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
6. Children
Munoo is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and access to the database is restricted per user. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
8. Changes
We will update this page when the app’s data practices change and show the date of the last update at the top.
